To cover or not to cover? Part 2….

In my last blog I talked about the perils of doing covers. However, I decided to throw caution to the wind and release a series of 3 live video covers on YouTube (see the YouTube link at the top of the webpage which takes you straight to my channel Sarah Riches Music). So…. covers (hmm, risky), and also live (eek!), what could possibly go wrong…..?!
These videos were recorded at Resident Studios, London, by Tom Hill – who now owns the very cool “The Bookhouse” recording studio – and were filmed and edited by Taylor Felix Baron.
This great production pairing combined with Adrian Kimberlin (bass), Alex Tinlin (keys), Harry Philips (guitar) and Simon Treasure (drums) meant I really had a dream team, thank goodness.
It was hard to choose which covers to do. And then I realised that, as they were artists/bands that had helped to shape my ideas about songwriting, Carole King, Fleetwood Mac and Norah Jones would provide cover inspiration. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did recording on them.
